Finding that 'perfect' fabric....

I love this story, this morning, of how a small boutique store in Spain run by a woman who does everything (sound familiar?) has hit the headlines. Princess Charlotte was photographed by her mother in a classic dress and suddenly everyone wants it. She cannot cope with the orders and there is very little material left as the factory no longer makes it.

This has happened a number of times to me over the last 25 years. I buy a few metres of fabric I love and then I run out of it as it turns out to be really popular. I then have to find something else which will please my customers. I have so much fabric as I love sewing and creating. I only put a fraction of my fabrics to appliqué on to my towels, on  my website, as most people do not want to be swamped by choice.

My most popular materials are the classics, the Liberty pink floral and the blue and pink gingham.

I am so lucky to have a big list of faithful clients built up over the years. They know they can ask me to provide something special. My best job was to make a towel out of a little baby dress.
