Towel Day

It makes me smile that today fans of Douglas Adams carry a towel in his honour. There are all sorts of events being organised globally. I have even had to sew a towel for a fan!

 Don't Panic towel

In his book Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy he writes towels are “the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.” A towel has both practical value – it can be used for warmth, as shelter, as a weapon, and, strangely, to dry one’s body as well as having a psychological value!

I don’t think any of my customers have ever used their towels as a weapon but I know lots of little ones love to receive a personalised towel to wrap themselves up in after their warm baths.

So Don’t Panic! You can always order one from us and have anything you like appliqued  in lovely fabrics on to either white, red, navy or cream soft, Egyptian cotton towels. Have a brilliant #towelday!

Cotton represents the second wedding anniversary

A customer recently asked me to make some towels for his wife for his second anniversary, which is cotton. After many email exchanges he finally chose what he wanted for her. I loved sewing this job.

For the first few years of marriage there is something of significance to represent each anniversary. One of my favourite gifts is a pewter plate given to me for my 10th anniversary.

Why not give a loved one a special, personalised gift that means something?
